The Artery Pal 18650 is a sleek, sophisticated, and compact AIO kit that designed for MTL and DTL vape. It has the stunning panels that slide down to reveal a 3ml cartridge with a replaceable coil. Driven by a single 18650 battery, the Artery Pal is small and portable while drawing on a very common box style pod design, which boasts a visual and tactile feature. The kit comes with two coils: a 0.4ohm mesh coil and a 1.4ohm regular coil. It has both adjustable wattage and a coil-based airflow control system with a max output of 50W. The screen, buttons, and AFC ring are all hidden behind the magnetic panel.
The Artery is a Shenzhen-based high-tech vape manufacturer specializing in the manufacturing and designing of E-cigarette. They have 5 years of OEM and ODM experience. Artery released a massive collection of pod devices available on the market and has become well-known on the success of the collaboration with Youtube reviewer, Tony B. The new Artery Pal 18650 follows up the original Artery Pal. The difference is obviously the Pal 18650 uses an external 18650 battery and its predecessor comes with an internal battery. I really love the Box-style design of Pal 18650, but does it vape as good as it looks?

Build Quality and Design of Artery Pal 18650
Opening up the Artery Pal 18650 box, I was impressed by the attention to its visual design and appealing details. It is an AIO after my heart! This tiny and ultra-portable device measures only 89mm x 45mm x 23.5mm and weighs in at just over 80g without a battery. It is very small and practically weightless in my hands. It is pocket-friendly and stealthy, I can take it anywhere. Like its predecessor, the Pal 18650 features a simple rectangular shape, barely taller and wider than the battery inside it. Even with its small and lightweight design, you are not going to forget about it in your pocket.
The chassis made of sturdy aluminum alloy is covered by two thick-paint plastic panels, giving the Pal 18650 a smooth and plastic-like feel. It is solid and did survive from several accidental falls and drops. The two decorative panels with full-sized stickers are removable. The adjustment buttons as well as a small but bright LED screen sit well in one side of the panel. The screen displays battery life, coil resistance, and power output. The adjustment buttons are very small but easy to press without a wiggle. The round fire button is on the opposite side of the removable panel with a large Artery logo. It is tactile and clicky but rattles a lot. The panels are held tightly by strong magnets, which are concealed within the mod.
The USB C charging port and the airflow intake slot are on one side of the device. When holding the Pal 18650, you should be careful of palming it like a box mod because that will cover up the airflow intake on the outside. The overall build quality is good but the plastic panels just feel a bit cheap. The corners are all rounded ergonomically for a comfortable grip.
Artery Pal 18650 Pod Cartridge and Coils
The 3ml pod cartridge is dark-tinted and there’s a big juice window on the front. It slides into the system nicely via strong magnets. The non-removable 510-like drip tip is a lot shorter than it’s predecessors. You may feel not very comfortable between lips. The refill is a little rubber plug on the side of the pod. You have to remove the panel to fill. The pod features the threaded coil installation. You need to remove the pod, unscrew the airflow ring and screw a new coil head. I have to admit that I would prefer to see a ‘plug and play’ manner.
The kit comes with two coils and two airflow control bases for MTL and DTL respectively. The airflow control bases are separate to the coils, which seems unnecessary. You can rotate the rings on the bases to adjust the airflow easily. Sadly, there are 3 different types of bases for 3 different coil connections, which is not user-friendly in my opinion.
How to Fill The Artery Pal 18650 Pod Cartridge:
- Remove the rear panel
- Use your fingernail to remove the rubber plug on the side of the pod
- Fill the pod with your desired e-liquid
- Replace the rubber plug and the panel
- Wait at least 5min to get the coil fully saturated
How to Replace the Artery Pal 18650 Coil Head:
- Remove the rear panel
- Pull out the pod out from the device
- Unscrew the expiry coil from the pod
- Unscrew the airflow control base from the coil
- Prime the new coil with 4 - 5 drops of e-liquid and screw it into the coil base
- Screw the coil into the pod
- Replace the pod and the rear panel
How to Adjust the Airflow of the Artery Pal 18650
- Remove the rear panel and pull out the pod from the device
- Rotate the coil base to adjust the airflow
- Replace the pod and the panel
How Does the Artery Pal 18650 Perform?
The Artery Pal 18650 pod kit is a very basic device with very few features. It is pretty easy to use. Like almost all 18650-driven vapes, the kit doesn’t include the cells. You have to purchase a 18650 battery separately. Click here to learn how to pick up a reliable and safe 18650 batteries. Remove the front panel and insert a single 18650 battery over the black ribbon. You should pay attention to the polarity symbols. Replace the panel and click the fire button five times to turn on the device. Use the Plus and Minus buttons under panel to adjust the wattage. Press the Plus and Minus buttons simultaneously to lock or unlock the screen.
Performance of Artery Pal 18650 Pod Kit:
The Artery Pal 18650 kit comes with two different coils, a pre-installed 0.4ohm Mesh coil for DTL vape (rated at 20W - 28W) and a 1.4ohm regular coil for MTL vape (rated at 7W - 11W). The 1.4ohm MTL coil is an obvious winner for flavor replication and overall enjoyment. The flavor is very strong with open airflow. The vapor production is decent for a discreet MTL vape. Very satisfying! The 0.4ohm sub-ohm coil head performs not well. It seems not enough power to make it sing. It provides a fairly nice but small cloud. The flavor is light.
Artery Pal 18650 Pod Kit Review
The Artery Pal 18650 Pod Kit is an ultra-portable and lightweight device. I really like how it looks. The thick sticker is stunning and feels comfortable in hands. The Artery Pal 18650 is fairly versatile and pretty simple to use. There are no complex features. The aluminum alloy chassis is solid that can withstand a few drops.
The MTL draw with the 1.4ohm coil is great. It seems not a sub-ohm device, but it’s capable. I will recommend it if you are a beginner or looking for a portable MTL device. In addition, there are a few drawbacks for me. I don’t like the separate coil base design, which is inconvenient. The plastic panels look cheap, making the device feel like a toy.
