The Innokin Coolfire Z50 kit bundles Innokin’s latest 2100mAh built-in battery mod with the 24mm edition of the Zlide tank to provide a great Mouth to Lung vape draw. The Zlide tank created in collaboration with YouTube Reviewers Phil Busardo and Dimitris Agrafiotis has been rated as one of the best MTL tanks on the market. The Coolfire Z50 is the seventh installment in the Coolfire range of mods, which are really popular among beginners and MTL Vapers.

Founded in 2011, Innokin is a well renowned Chinese brand especially when it comes to Mouth To Lung systems. They had great success with all their extensive back catalog of devices and tanks. I am pretty sure that the new Coolfire Z50 is an ideal pairing for the Zlide tank. The 2100mAh large internal battery is perfect for an entire day vape. With that in mind, let’s take a further look at the Coolfire Z50 kit. As always, I will give my honest opinion after a considerable testing period.

Build Quality and Design of Innokin Coolfire Z50

The devices from Innokin are always built at very high standards. The Coolfire Z50 mod is no exception, the first thing that stands out when you take it out of the box is the excellent build quality. Made of sturdy zinc alloy the Z50 mod has a mostly round appearance with curved sides for a comfortable grip. It is available in 5 colors so I am sure you will find the one suit for you. All of them have a bright gold or silver-plated accent at the top of the mod and around the fire button. The model name is printed on one side. Overall, the aesthetic design of the Coolfire Z50 makes it feel like a grown-up mod.

At 69.5mm x 33mm x 26mm, the Coolfire Z50 looks a bit smaller than some regular box mods, but it’s also a bit hefty with a large built-in battery. It is solid that can withstand rough handling. There is a flush stainless steel 510 connector with a spring-loaded gold-plated pin up top. It limits the mod to 24mm atomizers without overhang.

On the face of the device is a clear and bright 0.69-inch OLED screen, which displays your vaping data. The fire button and two adjustment buttons are responsive and work very well. There is no button rattle on the mod. The ergonomic curve makes it a perfect spot for resting your thumb when firing the device. At the side of the mod, you will find the Micro-USB port for firmware upgrades and charging. Looking at the bottom of the mod, you will find a power switch with some logos. The quality and design of the Z50 mod is good and keeps up with the earlier mods in the Coolfire line.

Innokin Zlide Tank

The Innokin Zlide MTL tank can be considered a follow-up to the Zenith tank, which takes the same coils as the Zenith. It is designed by Phil Busardo and Dimitris Agrafiotis and is a part of the Platform line of beginner-friendly products. The Zlide is a 24mm tank that fits 40ml of e-liquid. It features easy slide-to-open top fill design and comes with a comfortable silicone 510 drip tip which also functions as child protection. You need to remove the drip tip for filling the tank. As always from Innokin the build is top-notch with a quite lovely machining. it is nicely angled and sleek. The O-rings are great and the threads are very smooth. I have nothing to complain about.

There are two coils included in the kit for MTL vape - a 0.8ohm Kanthal rated for 15 to 18W and a pre-installed 1.2ohm Kanthal rated for 10 to 14W. The Zlide tank is also compatible with the Innokin Z coils. The coils feature a simple press-fit installation method. Just prime the coil by dropping 4-5 drops of juice inside the wick. Unscrew the bottom of the tank and the airflow ring then insert the coil into the tank and re-assemble the airflow ring. Remove the mouthpiece and slide to open the filling port. Add the vape juice then replace the mouthpiece. Wait at least 5min to saturate the coil.

Getting Started: Vaping the Innokin Coolfire Z50 Kit

Fully charge the Coolfire Z50 mod via Micro USB cable before first use. The 2100mAh large battery can last an entire day on a full charge with moderate use. The screen is clear and bright that displays the wattage output, voltage, resistance, and battery life. The operation is pretty straightforward and simple.

Quick Start Guide of Innokin Coolfire Z50:

  • Flip the switch on the bottom of the mod then press the fire button three times
  • Hold the fire button and the Up button at the same time for wattage mode
  • Hold the fire button and the Down button at the same time for voltage mode
  • Use the Up and Down buttons to adjust the wattage or voltage
  • Press the Up and Down buttons together to view the puff count

Performance of the Innokin Coolfire Z50 Zlide

The kit comes with two MTL coils. The airflow of the Zlide tank is fully adjustable that ranges from a slightly loose MTL to a very loose MTL. There is barely the noticeable sizzling sound of the coils. Vaping on the Coolfire Z50 Zlide is pretty silent. There is no turbulence on the airflow all across the airflow options.

The 1.2ohm coil provides a slightly tight MTL draw even with the airflow wide open. The vapor is good and the taste is strong. The 0.8ohm brings a very airy MTL that borders with a very restrictive DTL draw. You can make it even tighter by closing the first hole midway.

Innokin Coolfire Z50 Zlide Kit Review

The Innokin Coolfire Z50 Kit is the latest addition in the Coolfire line and is aimed at the vaping beginner or the MTL vaper. The Coolfire Z50 is an excellent mod, which is a great device to use with MTL tanks and low-to-mid wattage sub-ohm tanks. The 2100mAh battery is long-lasting and provides up to 50W output. The airflow range of the Zlide tank is excellent and will suit anyone looking for an MTL vape. Both of the coils included in the kit replicate the flavor from vape juice nicely and produce the massive cloud. The Coolfire Z50 Zlide Kit is very compact and pocket-friendly. If you are looking for a portable airy MTL device, I can highly recommend Coolfire Z50 and the Zlide, both as a kit and separate purchases. The vape experience as a whole is very satisfying.
